FocusRead Privacy Policy

Cozyapps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides FocusRead: Summaries with AI (“FocusRead”). This policy explains the information processed when you use FocusRead and the choices available to you.

Information we process

Account and profile information

• Email address, account identifier, and authentication information managed by Supabase. If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides your verified email address, display name, profile-image URL, and Google account identifier. FocusRead never receives your Google password.
• Optional name, reading goals, streak, language, and appearance preferences.

Library and reading activity

• Book titles, authors, identifiers, cover references, reading status, page totals, current page, progress, and custom shelves.
• Reading-session dates, durations, page counts, page ranges, and optional notes.
• Summaries you write and AI-generated reflections and questions returned to you.

Purchases and technical information

• Subscription status, product identifiers, purchase history, and an account identifier processed by RevenueCat and the applicable app store. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
• Service providers may receive technical information such as IP address, device or app information, request timestamps, and diagnostic logs when needed to operate and secure their services.

Device permissions

• If you choose a custom book cover, FocusRead requests access to the image you select. The image remains on your device and is not uploaded to our backend.
• If you enable reading reminders, the app schedules personalized reminders locally on your device. FocusRead does not upload a push-notification token for these reminders.
• The app reads your device language to select an initial interface language.

How we use information

• Provide authentication, cloud synchronization, reading timers, progress tracking, summaries, and account recovery.
• Personalize goals, reminders, language, appearance, and reading insights.
• Confirm subscription access, restore purchases, and prevent unauthorized use of paid features.
• Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve FocusRead.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

FocusRead does not sell personal information and does not contain third-party advertising.

Service providers

We disclose only the information needed for these providers to perform services for FocusRead:

• Supabase provides authentication, database storage, synchronization, and server functions.
• Google provides authentication and basic Google profile details when you choose Continue with Google.
• Anthropic processes a book title, page count, the summary you submit, and recent summaries for the same book to generate an AI reflection and optional question. Your email and password are not included in that AI prompt.
• Google Books receives book-search terms through our server and returns public book metadata.
• RevenueCat and Google Play or Apple App Store process subscription and transaction information.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies and may process it in countries other than your own.

Storage, security, and retention

Account data is stored in Supabase and cached on your device. We use encrypted network connections, authenticated requests, and database row-level access controls designed to keep each account’s records separate. No system can guarantee absolute security.

We generally keep account data until you delete it or your account. Operational logs and residual copies may remain for a limited period under provider retention schedules or where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. You may exercise available rights through the app’s controls or by emailing frenk.q8@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children’s privacy

FocusRead is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when FocusRead or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be updated, and material changes may also be communicated in the app or store listing.
